A bit more theory..

My Integrative training means that I draw on a number of theories and therapeutic work and I am able to cater for the specific needs of each young person. I include in my work:

  • Psychodynamic theory

  • Attachment theory

  • Systemic theory

  • Person-Centred approaches.

  • I also build continuously on my self awareness, CPD and good use of supervision.

 

It is often through the young person's imaginative play and the relationship that is built between us that I can identify and support the young person in how they are feeling and the difficulties they are experiencing then aid the young person to make internal and external changes that help them to feel happier and healthier. Teenagers find that it provides a great space to vent frustrations, fears and difficulties and with my support identify needs and feelings that are underneath these difficulties which in turn help them to make positive changes.

 

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have met their standards of proficiency for private work and I practise within their ethical framework. I have professional indemnity insurance in place.
