MY EXPERIENCE

I am warm, approachable and dedicated to supporting young people to reach their potential. I have worked with young people for nearly 20 years, now as an experienced counsellor and before that as a teacher and special educational needs coordinator. I am an integrative child and adolescent counsellor with a post graduate diploma from Place2Be, the UK's leading mental health organisation for children and adolescents. I have had extensive experience of working with children and their families as a counsellor and also working in an alternative provision school supporting young people and their families who have been excluded from mainstream schools and who suffer with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.. I am able to help with - among other things -  issues such as anxiety, depression, self esteem, relationship and peer difficulties, school issues, family conflict, behavioural issues, stress, anger and angry outbursts and shame.

I have worked hard on my self awareness and worked with my own therapist and within group therapy to heal wounded parts of myself and in turn understand myself and my relationships and boundaries better. This gives me insight, empathy and understanding of the problems that come in to the therapy room and I am able to stand alongside the children I work with with care and understanding and provide a judgement free supportive space for the children to explore all types of thoughts and emotions.

I have had experience of working for Place2Be in schools and currently work in a therapy centre amongst a team of therapists and supervisors.
